A Baby Shower for my NEW Grandchild!

I'm a little late posting today. I was away spending "Grammy Time" with my new grandchild Kylee. She had to go back to the hospital this week for 24 hours for some phototherapy due to her bilirubin levels being too high. Kylee spent 24 hours under the rays for jaundice and all is good now. When my daughter Jessica was born, she went through the same thing. I remember being in the hospital with her for 5 days. I didn't realize though that 60% of babies go through this. So glad she is okay.

On March 3rd, I hosted a Baby Shower for my daughter for our 2nd grandchild. I had a difficult time trying to get the date right because here in Maine, it storms so much from January to March. Jessica's due date was March 26th so I thought I was safe scheduling the shower for March 3rd. Phew that was close....Kylee Ann was born on March 10th. You can see a photo of me holding Kylee in the hospital:

She is such a cutie and my daughter and TJ surprised me when they gave her my middle name. How awesome is that? So anyway, I did not have time to post all of the photo's from the Baby Shower until now. WARNING...lots of photos!

This was the invite that I created. This shower was a small gathering of family members and a few of Jessica's close friends. I made 25 of these invites:

You may not recognize the stamp sets that I used. That's because they are very old and some of my favorites that I will always hold on to. The names of these stamp sets are Bundle Of Joy and Nursery Necessities:

I made the invites flat with the invite part glued to the back of the front. You can see both sides in the photo below. I printed the invite on my printer and then added the stamped leaves:

This is what my counter looked like in production mode:

Next up, I have several projects that I used giraffe designer paper that I found online, first a welcome sign:

And this is where it was place at the entry to the baby shower:

My 9-year old granddaughter Kaitlynn has a collection of giraffe's that we used at the welcome table. And since the theme was baby animals, this was perfect!

A small tent sign for attendess to address envelopes for Mom to send her thank you notes in:

A guessing game:

And this one I found the idea on Pinterest. I prepared the frame with cardstock & stamping like this:

With blank punched balloons sitting in front of the frame:

And then as each attendee arrived, they signed their name on one balloon and glued it in place:

Baby Kylee's Banner:

A box for the cards:

I even decorated some small and large water bottles with a strip of the giraffe designer paper wrapped around the bottles and added some punched flowers to the front:

The cake and I also had some coordinating cupcakes:

And a few photo's from the shower:

And I leave you with a photo of Kylee Ann in her first few minutes of making her appearance. Mom and baby are doing well and Kaitlynn loves her new little sister! I don't have a photo of Kylee with her Dad yet as TJ was having sinus and allergy issues and didn't want to take the chance of spreading any germs.

How could you not LOVE our Party Pandas stamp set. These little panda bears are so happy! That's what I am featuring on today's card:

I love these pandas so much that I stamped a string of them on a long card. I just love how crisp these images come out on our cardstock, especially our Whisper White Cardstock. Here's a close-up of the panda holding a banner:

I hope you like these panda bears as much as I do. This was a quick card to stamp and assemble and I'll show you how:
  • Card Base: Soft Sky Cardstock 8-1/4" x 7-1/2". Score at 3-3/4" and fold.
  • Layer #2: Basic Black Cardstock 7-3/4" x 3-1/4". Glue to card base.
  • Layer #3: Whisper White Cardstock 7-1/2" x 3". Stamp the panda images using Basic Black Ink. Stamp the confetti image repeatedly in the background. Color the hearts on the envelopes using the Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write Marker. Glue to card front.
  • Banner: Stamp the sentiment using Basic Black Ink on a scrap piece of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock. Cut out using the Duet Banner Punch. Glue banner in place using Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Bling: Add a few In Color Enamel Shapes to the background mixed in with the confetti images.

Stamping & Coloring on Vellum Cardstock!

Are you drooling over these three beauties? Oh what fun I had and I want to thank Gloria (my Downline), for asking me to show her how to color on Vellum Cardstock. I quickly came up with a design and posted a Live Facebook Video to show the technique. The official name of coloring on Vellum is actually the "Stained Glass Technique". Let's have a closer look at all three of these cards:

The Rose Wonder stamp set was a perfect choice to demonstrate this beautiful technique!

Do you follow me on my business Facebook page? You can right here with this link:

If you've never colored on Vellum Cardstock before, you can watch my video as I explain all of the steps and measurements you need for these cards:

3D Thursday and FREE Project Sheet!

It's almost spring and it's almost Easter. After our 3rd snowstorm in two weeks, I'm so ready for spring! Twila Davis from Stamp A Little Longer is one of my teammates on the 3D Thursday team and look what she created for us this week which is perfect for Easter:

A darling little truck carrying Easter eggs.

You can opt to create the top as shown above, to hold your Easter eggs or you can opt to put them in the back of the truck like this too:

Either way, Twila has a FREE Project Sheet for you at the end of my post but first, here's one more photo of the front. The little bunny even has a seat to sit on, what a riot!

As promised, here's the FREE Project Sheet:
